Six leading firework companies battle over two nights to win the title of British Firework Champions.

2023 Competitors

Each night, three 10-minute displays are fired from Mount Batten breakwater in Plymouth Sound.

Night One – Wednesday, 16 August 2023

  1. The UK Firework Company – Kent

  2. Distant Thunder Fireworks – Warwickshire

  3. Shockwave Pyrotechnics – Worcestershire

Night Two – Thursday, 17 August 2023

  • Skyburst The Firework Co. – Bristol

  • Pyrovision – Cambridgeshire

  • Electrify Pyrotechnics – Derbyshire

And the winner is…

Skyburst The Firework Co.

Based in Bristol, Skyburst is a long-established name in the UK pyrotechnics industry, renowned for producing high-impact, choreographed shows across the country. In recent years, they expanded their expertise and legacy by acquiring The Firework Co., a firework business with roots tracing back to the 1980s. This fusion of heritage and innovation was clearly on display in their winning performance, combining traditional artistry with cutting-edge effects and a bold musical narrative that captured the judges’ and audience’s attention alike.

Each display must last exactly 10 minutes and is judged on several technical and artistic criteria. Each display starts with a single Red, Amber and Green aerial burst before the 10-minute starts.
